Sunita Kejriwal, the wife of AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, mentioned that there will be a significant announcement today by Arvind Kejriwal regarding the "alleged Delhi liquor policy case" following his arrest.
New Delhi: Sunita Kejriwal,
wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has stated that Mr. Kejriwal will
unveil a significant revelation today regarding the alleged Delhi liquor policy
scandal. Currently, Mr. Kejriwal is currently under the supervision of the
Enforcement Directorate. Here are 10 key points on this major development:
1. Arvind Kejriwal was apprehended by the ED last week in connection
with an alleged money laundering case associated with the now-defunct Delhi
liquor policy.
2. His detention period ends today, and it is anticipated that the
investigative agency will request an extension.
3. Arvind Kejriwal is currently being detained in the lock-up at the
ED's Delhi office.
4. The Delhi High Court rejected the petition filed by the Aam Aadmi
Party (AAP) leader challenging his arrest and has granted time until April 2
for the probe agency to present their case.
5. The ED alleges that the policy offered excessively high profit
margins, with nearly 185% for retailers and 12% for wholesalers, of which a
significant portion was allegedly diverted as bribes.
6. Sunita Kejriwal, in a public statement, mentioned that the Chief
Minister would disclose crucial information related to the "so-called
Delhi liquor policy case" today.
7. She indicated that Mr. Kejriwal would divulge details about the
whereabouts of funds from the purported liquor scam.
8. Sunita Kejriwal also criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for
their attacks on Mr. Kejriwal, who issued directives to ministers Atishi and
Saurabh Bhardwaj from jail.
9. Despite his arrest, the AAP asserts that Arvind Kejriwal will
continue to serve as the Delhi Chief Minister and operate from jail, as
evidenced by his recent issuance of two directives.
10. BJP leaders have been staging protests across Delhi demanding the
resignation of Arvind Kejriwal, a move vehemently opposed by the AAP.
Additionally, both the US and Germany have commented on the arrest,
urging India to conduct a fair and transparent investigation.
