AAP to Boycott President's Parliament Address Due to Arvind Kejriwal's Arrest

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Wednesday in connection with the ongoing investigation into the alleged liquor policy scam.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has decided to boycott President Droupadi Murmu's address to the joint session of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha on Thursday in protest against the arrest of its leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

AAP general secretary (organization) and Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak criticized the BJP for Kejriwal's arrest and confirmed their decision to boycott the address.

On Wednesday, Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the alleged Delhi liquor policy scam.

President Murmu's address to the joint session of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, which is anticipated to outline the priorities of the newly-elected government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will be her first since the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha.
