In Khurdha,
a devastating incident occurred where a man lost his life due to a bomb
explosion, allegedly thrown by his own father. The target was his elder
brother, but the explosive device inadvertently killed the younger son instead.
The incident, which stemmed from a property dispute, took place in Sahaspur
Sahantinagar under the jurisdiction of Banapur police.
Details of the Incident
The victim,
identified as Dibyasingh Routray, was killed when his father, Satha Routray,
hurled a bomb meant for his elder son, Subash. The bomb, however, misfired and
detonated on Dibyasingh after ricocheting off an iron grill. Subash sustained
minor injuries from the blast.
Background of the Dispute
The father,
Satha, had an ongoing disagreement with Subash over land ownership. The
conflict escalated to the point where Satha, along with Dibyasingh, planned to
eliminate Subash.
The Explosion

reached its tragic climax when Satha threw the bomb at Subash’s residence.
Instead of hitting the intended target, the bomb struck an iron grill, bounced
off, and exploded on Dibyasingh, resulting in his death. Subash was fortunate
to escape with only minor injuries.
Police Intervention
Upon
receiving reports of the explosion, police officers quickly arrived at the
scene. They discovered a country-made gun in the vicinity, further complicating
the case. Both Satha and Subash have been detained by the authorities for
questioning as part of the ongoing investigation into the incident.
Current Status
The police
are delving deeper into the circumstances surrounding the tragic event,
focusing on the land dispute that led to such a drastic action. The father and
elder son remain in custody as the investigation continues.
