Bhubaneswar: Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra's Tour of Key Parks and Gardens.

Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra embarked on a visit to several prominent parks and gardens in Bhubaneswar today.

The Minister, accompanied by Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) Vice-Chairman Balwant Singh and other officials, began his early morning tour with stops at Anandabana, the State Silviculture Garden in Ghatikia, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Park in Kalinga Nagar, and the Waste to Art Park in K-7, Kalinga Nagar, according to an official press release.

During his time at Anandabana, Bhubaneswar's leading urban forest park, the Minister engaged with the park's amenities, planting a Swarna Champa sapling and exploring the open library, amphitheatre, parking area, and other features. He recommended creating a flower garden within Anandabana to benefit local communities and expressed his vision for similar parks across the city. Anandabana, spanning 89.05 acres, boasts amenities like ample parking, benches, gazebos, rain shelters, a children's play area, public facilities, and healthy food kiosks.

At the Waste to Art Park in K-7, Kalinga Nagar, the Minister urged officials to accelerate the redevelopment process. The 4.5-acre park will include sports facilities for roll ball, skating, and basketball, as well as flower bed trails, various landscaping elements, and sculptures. The BDA is overseeing this development.

While visiting Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Park, the Minister instructed officials to hasten the ongoing redevelopment work and introduce a light and sound show to draw more visitors. This park is managed by the BDA.

At the State Silviculture Garden, a collaborative development by the BDA and the Forest Department, the Minister encouraged officials to complete the ongoing projects swiftly and make the facility accessible to the public.
