The Deputy CM's visit highlighted the government's commitment to resolving local issues and ensuring the benefits of welfare schemes reach the intended recipients.
During her visit to the Bonda Ghat area in
Malkangiri district, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced that women
in the region would soon receive the pending funds under the Subhadra Yojana.
The Deputy CM's visit highlighted the government's commitment to resolving
local issues and ensuring the benefits of welfare schemes reach the intended
recipients.
Update on Subhadra Yojana Disbursement
Deputy CM Parida revealed that out of 12,000
women who had applied for the Subhadra Yojana, 9,000 have already received
their first instalment. Efforts are underway to address challenges and ensure
the remaining 3,000 beneficiaries receive their payments promptly. She
emphasized that the process is being closely monitored, with the District
Collector instructed to resolve any persisting issues.
“The delay is due to technical and
administrative hurdles, but we are determined to overcome them swiftly,” Parida
said. The government’s proactive approach aims to expedite the distribution
process so that all eligible beneficiaries can access the scheme's benefits
without further delays.
Infrastructure and Development Issues
During her visit, Parida also addressed
broader concerns affecting the residents of Bonda Ghat. She instructed the
District Collector to focus on improving access to essential services such as
drinking water, education, and internet connectivity.
“Basic infrastructure is critical for the
holistic development of tribal regions like Bonda Ghat. These issues must be
resolved on priority to uplift the standard of living here,” she remarked.
Statewide Distribution Plans
Beyond Malkangiri, the Deputy CM provided
updates on the broader rollout of the Subhadra Yojana’s first instalment. She
noted that preparations are underway for the fourth phase of disbursement,
which is expected to benefit over 20 lakh people across Odisha. However, the
process has been slowed due to extensive account verification and land disputes
in certain areas.
“If all account verifications are completed
by December 30, we aim to distribute the funds by January,” Parida stated. She
stressed the importance of resolving land-related conflicts and speeding up the
administrative process to ensure timely distribution.
Role of the Double-Engine Government
Highlighting the collaborative efforts
between the state and central governments, Parida expressed optimism about
Odisha’s development prospects under a "double-engine government."
She mentioned that the central government has shown its willingness to support
the state in implementing welfare schemes and infrastructure projects.
“With both the state and central governments
working in tandem, we can expect accelerated development in Odisha. The
Centre's support has been encouraging, and we hope this partnership will yield
significant benefits for the people,” she added.
Challenges and Future Prospects
Despite progress, challenges such as account
verification and land disputes remain roadblocks to the swift implementation of
the Subhadra Yojana. The government is actively working to address these
issues, ensuring that the funds reach all eligible beneficiaries without
discrimination.
Parida's visit also underscored the
importance of addressing the unique needs of tribal communities, particularly
in remote regions like Malkangiri. Enhanced focus on education, internet
connectivity, and clean drinking water will pave the way for sustainable development
in these areas.
Conclusion
The Deputy CM’s assurances bring hope to
thousands of women waiting for financial assistance under the Subhadra Yojana.
With efforts underway to resolve technical and administrative challenges, the
government is optimistic about completing the disbursement by early next year.
Parida’s emphasis on infrastructure development and collaboration between state
and central governments reflects a holistic approach to governance that
prioritizes the welfare of Odisha’s most vulnerable communities.
As Odisha prepares for the next phase of
Subhadra Yojana implementation, the focus remains on ensuring that no one is
left behind in the state’s journey toward inclusive growth.
