The primary emphasis of Congress' 2024 manifesto lies on addressing unemployment concerns, with a commitment to conduct a caste census

If elected, the party has pledged to conduct a comprehensive caste census across the nation to "ascertain the various castes and sub-castes along with their socio-economic status."

In New Delhi, the Congress unveiled its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, placing a significant emphasis on tackling unemployment and committing to conduct a comprehensive socio-economic caste census.

The party has expressed its intention to conduct a nationwide census to "identify the various castes and sub-castes alongside their socio-economic circumstances."

Furthermore, Congress has outlined plans to use this data to bolster initiatives aimed at supporting marginalized castes through affirmative action measures.

The manifesto launch event was led by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, with prominent leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and P Chidambaram in attendance.

The Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to take place in seven phases, commencing on April 19 and concluding with the announcement of results on June 4.
