"Reasons Behind Team India's Decision to Release Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan"

India has only one-day intervals between their Super 8 matches, so the team management didn't see the necessity for a large squad, given the limited opportunities for extensive practice sessions.

Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan are spending their final hours with the Indian cricket team in Florida, as they are set to be released from the squad. According to CricketNext, they won't travel to the West Indies for the Super 8 stage of the ongoing T20 World Cup due to the scheduling of the Super 8 matches.

Initially, both players were supposed to accompany the team for the entire tournament, but the management decided against retaining the full squad of 19, which included 15 main players and four traveling reserves.

India's Super 8 matches are scheduled for June 20, 22, and 24, with the second semi-final on June 27 if they qualify. A source familiar with the situation explained, "There was very little gap between games for extensive practice. Therefore, the management chose to release the two players as matches are back-to-back, leaving minimal time for long practice sessions. Khaleel Ahmed is already present to provide left-arm variety in the nets if needed."

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has arranged travel for Gill and Avesh, who are unlikely to attend India's last group-stage game against Canada on June 15, as only the main squad of 15 is permitted in the dugout. Previously, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh, and Rinku Singh watched from the stands during the match against Pakistan in New York.

The weather in Florida has been consistently rainy, with a poor forecast for today as well. The USA-Ireland game on June 14 was washed out, and Team India has had to stay indoors, with some players opting for a gym session at the team hotel.
